So... Pip n I were talking a bit about the motivation for the entire journey and use of the Four dragons, this is kinda what we came up with so spew opinions, people!:
The kingdom has suffered so much under the rule of an oppressive upper class that after the reincarnates village is literally burned to the grown for being accused of harboring rebels/being too poor to pay taxes/being mostly wiped out by a plague which could be easily cured with intervention from the government/a famine causes most of the village to literally just rot/upper classes using majority of country as fodder in a pointless war maybe. The Charry could be forced to be so desperate that they have to fall back on fairy tales, furious at the ruling party for basically using the country as a mere toy. Some time near the beginning of the village being destroyed, the reincarnate with accidentally bump into a dragon reincarnate thus spurring the belief and journey into action.
I personally was thinking that because the original anime is centered around feudal japan-like times, we could push forward the corruption theme by saying the Sky Clan(the royal Clan) had nearly wiped out the four other Clans: Wind, Earth, Water and Fire in an attempt to gain absoloute power over the small kingdom of Kouka(correct me if I am wrong) but in the process, the royal bloodline was ursurped by a so called 'court' which had been ruling ever since.
So? Whatya you guys think?
