Bay sat up covered in ashes, she coughed gasping for air. An old lady stopped walking on a stone path to over at look at Bay."Are you okay? Child?" the old lady asked. Bay quickly looked over at the old lady then around, she sat in the middle of a park not sure where she was. The old lady made her way over to Bay and helped her stand up, "What is your name- oh god!" The old lady stepped back as she say the white wings on Bay's back.
"What?" Bay turned to see a part of the wing, "I don't remember... How?" Bay looked at the old lady who had unbuttoned her coat and wrapped it around Bay to hid her wings.
"Where are you from little angel?" The old lady asked taking Bay's hand.
"I can't go back... Bay... Bay is my name." Bay squeezed the old lady's hand lightly.
"Would you want to bless an old lady and stay with her for her last few years?" The old lady asked. Bay couldn't believe her luck.
'she must be religious' Bay thought. "Yes." Bay nodded.
Bay went back to the old lady's house, tucked in between two large buildings. Bay showered and borrowed the old lady's clothes, they were a little out of date but it was the best she could find. "Thank you... I'll be back tonight." Bay said as she walked out the front door, past the rose garden and through the gate.
"Goodbye my rose angel" The old lady waved to Bay as she walked away. Bay kept the woman's coat and held it tightly to hid her wings. Bay walked on the sidewalk trying to clear her mind and blend with the groups of humans that hurried along.
