Anita grinned at him. "I don't think you would get fat, Mr Muscles. And I would work out with you if you were concerned about that." She ate a few more bites of breakfast.

Alex put his fork down and leaned over. "Mmm, that sounds like fun. What would this work-out entail?"

Anita smirked playfully. "What would you want to do? Anything is good with me," she hinted.

Alex leaned close like he was going to kiss her, but then he turned his face and kissed her cheek. "I'll have to think about it. Nothing's coming to mind."

Anita had closed her eyes in preparation but when she felt the kiss on her cheek she grinned. "You tease." She finished up her food and then stood, stretching. "Ah. I need a shower."

Alex wriggled his eyebrows at her but leaned away and shoveled down the rest of his breakfast. "I have to check on Carlos and mi mama. I'll see you in a few hours?"

Anita smiled. "Okay. Where?" She took a sip of her drink and then looked back up at him.

"Here?" Alex said. "Or wherever, if you don't want to sit around the house and be lazy." He paused and smiled faintly. "What is it that normal people do?" He'd certainly never been normal.

Anita grinned. "Here works." She stood, looking down at him, and then leaned down and gave him a short kiss. "I'll see you then."

Alex leaned into the kiss, disappointed when she pulled away. But he didn't go after another one, because he knew he needed to get out of there. "See you soon," he promised. Then he grabbed his coat and left the apartment before he could change his mind.

Anita smiled slightly as she watched him go, thinking of their time together.

Officer Carter looked at Officer Fuentes, her partner. This was a stressful day for the department; there was a raid on a known gang hangout that day, and they were preparing for it. She loaded her gun and then looked up at Alex. "Are you ready for today?"
