She shrugged and looked in it until it ran our of time. Once she had had an eyeful, she gestured at him. "Lets go. Lots more to see!"

Conner grunted in response and tagged along after her. If she really wanted to see the city, there were so many far cooler things he could show her.

She looked around uncertainly when they landed on the mainland. "What should we go next...?" she asked mostly herself.

Conner crossed his arms and didn't answer. He'd so much rather be scaling a building, testing out some new equipment.

She paused. "Let's go to Broadway, and the surrounding area." She waited for him a moment.

"Right," Conner said unenthusiastically. "Broadway it is." And I know just the place to go first, he thought.

Vanessa followed after him, thinking about what her mother would think if she knew her daughter was here. She suddenly felt rather afraid, especially about what her mother would do if she found out. And she really didn't know anyone. As they emerged onto Broadway, she felt surrounded by strangers and her chest tightened.

"Want to grab something to eat first?" Conner asked casually. He seemed suddenly relaxed and almost... friendly.

Vanessa eyed him suspiciously, but she couldn't ignore the hunger rumbling in her stomach. "Yeah, I guess so."

[ᴄʀʏsᴛᴀʟғʀᴏsᴛ]

Conner actually clapped his hands together with a smile. "Wonderful. I know the perfect place to stop for a break." He led her down the street and around a couple of turns, until they reached a rather sketchy looking business whose door proudly proclaimed "The Cuddly Bunny."

Vanessa walked with him, hesitantly because he was acting the exact opposite of what he had been. She then saw the sign and she frowned. "The Cuddly Bunny?"

[ᴄʀʏsᴛᴀʟғʀᴏsᴛ]

"Yep," Conner said. "Come on, you'll love this place. I just know it."

She blinked but followed him uncertainly inside. But she stopped dead in the doorway- everyone in there seemed to be the sort of people her mother had warned her of. Biker gangs, people with tattoos, and even one who appeared to be holding a pet rat! She tensed up and looked up at Conner.

[ᴄʀʏsᴛᴀʟғʀᴏsᴛ]

Conner gave her an encouraging smile. "It's alright, darling," he said. "They're harmless. Really."

"Since when do you call me darling?" she hissed under her breath, trying not to attract any attention. She noticed uncomfortably that she was the only female in the room.

Conner chuckled and slipped past her. Unless she wanted to walk herself back home, she was stuck here for now. "I need a drink. And food. I'm starving."
