The queen actually laughed lightly, amused by Fae's words.

Kit took a deep breath before digging his heels into the stallion's sides. The horse whinnied loudly and reared a little before taking off. Kit held on easily, balancing his lance in one arm.

Rhoswen scooted forward in her seat, leaning over slightly as she watched with baited breath.

Fae leans abck, crossing her arms

The man's own horse streaked foreward, incredibly fast. His lance lowered and held steady on one spot despite everything

Kit's lance seemed to be held still like stone in some ivasable grip, steadying it

He didn't let his surprise we shown, but Kit wanted to smile slyly. He leaned forward, urging the horse faster as they neared his opponent.

When they met, his lance slams straight into the other man's chest... Imemdiately sending the man falling, even though the man's own lance slams ito Kit's shoulder

His shoulder jerked at the impact and Kit grunted in pain, but he stayed on his horse as it continued to gallop down the field. He pulled it to a stop, the stallion tossing his head happily, and turned him around, glancing up at Fae with a small smile.

Rhoswen jumped to her feet, clapping and smiling, even though that was improper of her to do, especially with Lord Kaid sitting beside her.

The queen narrowed her hazel eyes, obviously pissed off, though a bet was a bet.

Fae crosses her arms and murmurs," Well then, i'll run the plans by you tommorrow." She sounded neither gloating nor particularly pleased but just respectively neutral

"Very well," Queen Kalidara responded, her tone equally as cool. She wasn't the type to go back on a bet.

Kit trotted back to the tent, dismounting. Cat immediately threw her arms around him, "Great job, Kit!"

Fae smiles and murmurs softly," I would like rhos to be betrothed to the one she really loves." She says inaudibly so only the Queen could hear

The wind stirs his curls before dying away

Kali's eyes flicked over to Fae, "And who does she really love?" she questioned quietly.

Kit patted his sister's back and took off his helmet, "Thanks, Cat." The wind made him smile. 'Thank you,' he thought.

" Commander Scout," she murmurs softly, watching the Queen calmly

Scout watched Fae and Rhos

Queen Kalidara's hazel eyes darted sharply to the Commander before they came back to Fae, "Your guard?" she asked, mouth pinched.

Rhoswen settled back in her seat, unable to keep the smile from her lips.

Scout smiles and waves at her, ruffling Kit's head

The queen sighed bitterly, "You do realize how ill their match is, don't you? My sister would have never allowed it, if she were still here with us. She trusted me to find Rhoswen a husband. A noble husband. I don't this Commander Scout, and I don't doubt that he's a good man, but his position is what worries me."

Kit laughed and shoved Scout's arm away in amusement. Rhos waved back openly now, her smile bright.

Fae nods and murmurs," It was what worried me as well... He is already Captain of the Toyal guard and the General of our Elite Units... Yet he is just a commoner..."

"Marriages between noble and common blood is not something to be taken lightly," Kali folded her hands in her lap, "I'm not sure the court would take it well if I would announce that. They seem to like Lord Kaid well enough. He is a nice young man and has yet to do anything to prove himself a bad match for her.."

" you love the king, do you not?" Fae answers," Do we really want to subject her to a unloving marriage?"

The queen smiled, "That is true. I had hoped to keep Rhoswen from having to deal with all of that as much as I could."
