Kaito knew he was getting closer. Despite the raging sandstorm, he could practically smell them. He could see their chakra, dancing like an aurora in the distance. Two of them, and both of them powerful at that. Could he take them alone? He'd lost his companion somewhere in the storm, and hadn't bothered to go back for her. He couldn't lose these two. No, correction: He couldn't lose Kiba. That man, that rogue, was his goal. The other one didn't matter. He told himself that over and over as he plodded on. He wore a cloth over his face to protect it from the sand, but his eyes still stung and he was having trouble breathing. He had to go on. He had to take down Kiba. The traitor would pay for his sins.

Across the dunes, the Wolfmaster stared through the sandstorm with narrowed eyes. "He's still coming," he said to Jakkaru after muttering a quiet curse. "How is he still coming? How can he even know where we are?" He kicked at the sand under his feet angrily. All of this, all of his and Jakkaru's combined strength to create this awesome storm, and still their adversary advanced. The fool had to be driven, that was for sure.

Jakkaru tilts his head slowly," He is hust trackig our chakra, simple really..." His monotone voice rising over the wind," he wants you... Badly... Why?"

Kiba grunted. "He must be one of the Sand Shinobi. I'm a deserter, a rogue. It's their job to track me down." He paused and narrowed his eyes, trying to see through the still-swirling storm. "How can he see our chakra?"

" Your eyes or open yet you still can't see," the boy answers softly," We have to fight him... But do we have to kill him?" His dull red scarf snaps in the strong wind, the pack of jackals suddenly appearing beside them. The boy empty, dead eyes stared to where he could sense the shinobi fighting toward them

Kiba's face hardened, cold as a desert night. "He's our enemy. We have no choice."

" Very well," Jakkkaru murmurs

"Let's go," Kiba said. "I want this to be over quickly." He was sure the two of them could take this one little shinobi easily. He started across the dunes, the swirling sand parting around him.

" Go ahead... I want to watch, just for a bit,@ Jakkaru murmurs, settling down, a pure black jackal licking his cheek as he rubs its skinny back

Kiba glanced back at him, his eyes curious, but he went on alone. "Come out, come out wherever you are!" he shouted through the storm. Kaito's head snapped up, his rinnegan eyes sharpening. That had to be him. Kiba Sasake.

Jakkaru watches, scratching bejind the Jackal's large ears, he could feel the chakra more then he could feel it... Bad bad..

Kaito's eyes narrowed and he stepped forward. When Kiba saw him, the storm started to settle. "It's time to end this," he said. "I'm tired of your people chasing me around. I just want to be left alone." Kaito didn't answer. He just put his hands together in hand signs, calling forth a storm of metal needles. Who needed to carry weapons when you could summon them?

Jakkaru watches in silence, the jackal at his side whining softly and panting

Kiba dodged to the side with incredible speed and shot a jet of hardened sand at the Sand ANBU. Kaito raised his hands and the sand simply fell limp. So, that wasn't going to work, Kiba decided.

Jakkaru taps the Jackal's nose, causing the six-foot beast to sneeze. The black dog suddenly leaping to its paws and releasing a laughing howl that carried to the battle

Kaito's eyes snapped toward the sound, giving Kiba an opening. The rogue darted forward, whipping out a kunai and driving it toward Kaito's heart. The other shinobi had fast reflexes, however, and he dodged to the side at the last second, so the knife only skimmed his shoulder instead of landing a fatal blow. Now that they were close, Kaito switched to taijutsu. He swung his leg up and at Kiba's head, only to have the other man duck. Kiba drove his palm toward Kaito's chin, but he dodged out the way by flipping backward.

The storm thickens until they could barely see in front of their own faces, as if a cyclone was trappig them in arena, Jakkaru slowly gets to his feet and starts to walk quietly toward the battle, The huge jackals streamig past him

Kiba swung at Kaito again, only to realize a second later that he couldn't see him at all. Kaito, however, could sense his chakra. He darted forward, landing a blow on the blind Kiba's chest.
