I have a tragic plot for this My character is looking for someone to take her to Mercia, and she doesn't tell them why. She just says she'll pay a large sum of money, which she shows them to prove that she will. Over the journey they become friends, but she shows strange behavior like coughing a frailty. At the end when she reaches Mercia, she dies. --
She was an abnormal sight, a rarity in the inn filled with noisy men and flying fists. She sat, her back a rigid line as she clutched her bag to her stomach. "I'm looking for a travel guide," she tells the barkeeper. Her voice was small, and strained like a thin wire. He shakes his head a bit while cleaning a large chipped mug.
"I dun't know anyone round these parts that'll take you there. Mercia is quite the distance,"
"I have money," she stresses, her grip on the bag tightening, "Payment is not an issue." Gray-brown eyes scanned the bar scene with slight fear, her cloak and good managing to cover her quite well.
A tall mysterious man walked into the bar, making a draft follow him. He wore a black jacket and shirt along with white pants and combat boots which went up to his knees, while around his neck was a thick red scarf which hung over his shoulders, one end being seen from in front of his right shoulder while the other slipping down his backside. He didn't look like the regular "bad" guy, he actually didn't look like a bad guy at all. On his shoulder was a creature, the only one in the world, something that was questioned when he walked in by the men who had instantly stopped what they were doing. It was small, a little black ball with a long, thin tail which had a blue fire at the end that balled up and curled, only an inch. The creature had large black wings compared to its small body, and they stood on end as if the creature was more annoyed than the human.
He walked through the group which had ceased its fighting and to the bar. He sat down a few chairs away from her, his face unseen from under his hood. A large man walked up behind him and poked him then said "you think you can walk in here all high and mighty and think you wont get a beat down, your wrong." the large man said then he turned him around, grabbing him up by the red scarf around his neck. He retorted by snapping the mans wrist without even moving and inch, forcing the man to drop him. "Don't touch people when you dont know them" he growled then sat back down, his identity not revealed.
Gray eyes focused on him, her pale pink lips parting in a small 'o'. Her attention shifted between the creature on his shoulder, and his scarf. They both somehow managed to make him stand out, and even if the unknown creature seemed a little dangerous--she didn't feel scared. Not as scared as she is of the other burly men in the bar.
"I suggest you try hirin' a knight miss, this bunch... May not be the best sort,"
"I already tried to get a knight." She turns he head back to the barkeeper, "and I need to get there soon,"
He heard her but didn't think of it really, instead he looked to the bartender "hey can i have a glass of water?" he asked. His little 'pet' flew off his shoulder, and landed on the counter, bouncing over to her, it seemed o look up at her but it had no eyes. It rubbed against her hand it had fur covering its small body, it was soft and its feathers were even softer. He sighed and put his elbows on the bar.
The barkeeper turns his attention from the woman and nods his head to the unannounced man, "Alright," he turns and begins to fix the request, mumbling under his breath about how he wanted to be a barber.
A small giggle comes from under the cloak, and she gently scratches the small things neck, "I guess I'll just go myself then..." Her hand was pale and unnaturally cold against the its feathery pelt. The barkeeper turns back and slides a glass of water in front of the man with the red scarf before moving further down the bar to his other customers.
Relief mixes in with the hope, and she faces him, keeping her hand within the curious creatures reach, "I need someone to take me to Mercia," she shifts the large bag in her lap, "Payments not a problem."
He gave her a curt nod then pulled the hood from his head, revealing the beautiful face that was his. He had red hair and though his right eye was covered his left eye was an odd color it wasn't green nor was it blue, but an off-set turquoise and it was beautiful. He didn't look to old maybe in his early twentys and though his body was thin, his sharp and handsome features allured her and this was the reason he kept himself covered, for if he didn't he would never get away from the hordes of people who would want to follow him. Seeing him take his hood off as well, she mirrors his motions and takes hers off as well so that she wouldn't seem impolite. His sharp features made hers look like a babies; for hers were more full and round in the cheeks, and although she barely had any color in her cheeks, her hair made up for it. It was a long curly orange, arranged in a somewhat orderly mess upon her head that shifted from a dark brown to a citrus orange. "We can leave whenever you're ready, but I'd prefer if it was today,"
He nodded and gave a small smile "we can leave in about an hour, my horses need a little rest" he said, he had three, each a frightening sight. He sipped at his water after their hands were released and the creature flew up and nuzzled the girls cheek.
