Harold opened his mouth to speak, but one look at her and he sighed. "Why couldn't you have been hideous or evil, huh? Jeez." He murmured with a chuckle ending in a grimace.
"Hideous or evil, huh?" The girl couldn't help but smile, "If that's what you like, I could introduce you to some of my brothers and sisters. I'm sure some of them could fit that description, however vague it is."
"Once again, sarcasm." He says, but he knows she gets it. "So, what are you going to do with me? Talk until it's sundown?" He asked curiously. His breathing had calmed down, but he was still a mess
"Oh great." He muttered, leaning his head against the tree and looking up. "Fight my patrol gets killed by wights, a beautiful wildling chases me to the ends of the earth, and I end of captive. Perfect." he mutters. JonJon glances at him but mostly watches Dari, as if still distrustful
Dari shrugged, "I can't promise anything, but I caught you- or the Shadowcat did. But that means I'll decide what to do with you. The others do not get a say in your bodily condition."
"That completely reassures me." He replies with a grin, sarcastic again. But the. He just sighes. "So where are your brothers and sisters?" He asked curiously
"Probably chasing down other crows. They aren't as merciful as I am, unfortunately," Dari tilted her head at him, "Are there many of crows that are wargs?"
Harold shakes his head, petting JonJon fondly with a warm smile; love, affection, and companionship in it. "So far , I think I'm the only one. JonJon stays out here, because he loves to be free. I could never stuff him into the Wall. He'd die of boredom. So I often go out on my own or with patrols to check up on him. He always knows when I'm coming." He says with a chuckle-grimace
Harold shrugs, but grunts from the sting of pain. "People are afraid of change. That's what I think at least. You guys are admittedly better than us at that: adapting." He admitted ruefully
"To not adapt is to die," Dari snorted. She nudged the hawk with her chin lightly and the bird took flight, crying out, "My brothers and sisters are approaching," she informed him, getting to her feet.
The sounds of footfalls on snow echoed around them as the wildlings seemed to melt from the forest, a multitude of weapons adorning them. Dari plucked up her bow and slung it over her shoulder.
Harold watched them. There were quite a lot, and if thy had descended on him back at he slaughter scene..... There was no way he would've survived. JonJon sat at his side, watching all of them suspiciously
