"Told you," Matt said with a laugh. He pulled himself up through the open doorway and then turned around to offer her his hand.

River grabbed his hand, using him and the rest of the ladder to propel herself up through the opening. She looked around and had to blink several times. "You don't say."

It was huge. High tech, with a center control council. Several hallways branched off from the room, and there was a staircase that led to a second floor. "Pretty cool, eh?" he said.

"This is brilliant..."A mixture of shock, excitement and anticipation lingered on River's face as she looked around.

Matt spread his arms. "Welcome to my home."

"Amazing."Okay so the shock wasn't going away. This was the best escape from life plan in the history of history. This guy was a damn genius.

Matt walked over to the console and flipped a switch to turn on the rest of the lights. The beautiful chamber was flooded with light. It was a work of art in itself. High ceilings with metal columns reaching up to it, metals railings etched with designs. He'd done them himself in his more extreme spouts of boredom. Paintings and tapestries on the walls, collected for over 2000 years. It really was a thing to behold.

"Dear merciful God."River muttered under her breath. This place was absolutely beautiful. "Now if only it could travel in time. That'd be cool."She laughed.

Matt laughed as well. "Now that truly would be a feat. Alas, we're stuck with simply moving through space."

"So we can travel anywhere in space that we want. Anywhere at all?"

"Anywhere you want. On earth, preferably. She can handle space, but I hate long trips," Matt told her.

"London sounds great. It's been a while since I've been home."River smirked.

Matt smiled. "Me, too," he said. "Maybe we'll visit my home while we're in Europe."

"Wait. You're from Europe as well?"River was shocked that she was surprised at this. He had the accent.

Matt laughed. "Rome to be precise," he said. He didn't mention that he was from Ancient Rome.

"Rome. Are you serious? That's the most amazing thing I've ever heard in my life. Surprisingly I've never met anyone from Rome, but I studied Rome for a few years for a book I wrote. Great place. Amazing Culture."River had set herself a rant of sorts. In fact she loved everything about the ancient cultures. Greece and Rome were her particular favorites.

Matt was smiling, his eyes amused. "What are you?" he asked. "A gangster archeologist?"

"Something like that."River answered with a wink.

Matt laughed and shook his head. "Off to England it is, then, with a stop in Rome afterward."

"Sounds like the most perfect plan."River raised an eyebrow in an almost strangely seductive manner. It was almost funny, the way her lips curled up at one side to match. She fluffed her curly hair with her hand and found herself finding a seat somewhere.
