Matt flipped a few switches and the engine, sounding unlike any other engine in the world, hummed to life. Then there was a jolt and the ship was moving. He threw her an apologetic look. "Sorry," he said. "I'm still working on that."

"I'm sure you'll get it soon enough."River responded, moving over to stand next to him.

Matt gave her a wry smile. He'd been working on it for years. He couldn't get it to start smoothly without losing some of the other features the ship had. "We'll be there in a few hours," he said.

"Wonderful. Now what all is on this ship of yours. It's quite stunning, but this can't be all there is."River asked, maybe a tour, that would be nice. As if they weren't already spending a lot of time alone together.

"Of course!" Matt said, clapping his hands together. "A tour. Right this way, m'lady." He strode over to her and offered her his arm.

River laced her arm in his and allowed him to lead her.

Matt took her down a metal-walled hallway, heading toward the library first. Yes, his ship had a library. If you'd lived for 2000 years, you'd have a fondness for books, too.

"Dear merciful God. That's a lot of books."River said, staring up at the bountiful amount of books.

"It is quite a collection," Matt said. "Do you like to read?"

"I do quite enjoy a book from time to time."River said, skimming over the collection. In fact, he had the book she'd written in her teen years. "It seems you have one that I wrote in your collection."

[ᴄʀʏsᴛᴀʟғʀᴏsᴛ]

"Do I?" Matt asked, peering at the shelf she was looking at. He'd read so many books... he rarely paid attention to the authors.

River pulled a book out by a woman named Mel Carraway. "My pen name."

[ᴄʀʏsᴛᴀʟғʀᴏsᴛ]

Matt took the book from her and studied the cover. "Ah... yes, I remember. How many books have you written, anyway?"

"I wrote a fiction series as Mel Carraway, and I wrote an anthology on the history of the ancient cultures as Melody Rivers. I'm sure you have that one floating around here as well."River nodded, with a grin, as she pulled her anthology from a shelf.

[ᴄʀʏsᴛᴀʟғʀᴏsᴛ]

"Well, I am a sucker for history books," he said, spreading his hands. "I always like to see if they get it right."

"Oh, and did I get it right?"River asked with a smile.

[ᴄʀʏsᴛᴀʟғʀᴏsᴛ]

Matt grinned. "Most of it," he replied before taking the book and slipping it back into its place on the shelf.

"Oh and what did I miss on?"

[ᴄʀʏsᴛᴀʟғʀᴏsᴛ]

"That's a secret," Matt said, winking at her. "Don't worry, most historians get it wrong, too. Those who get it right are labeled as fools."

"Oh so there are spoilers...is that what your saying? Things I have to unearth about my mistakes in my observations?"River retorted almost immediately.
