"No kidding." Destiny rolled her eyes, seeing something out of the corner of her eyes as another Oni appeared, just as she drove her blade through it's chest something dropped from above, landing on the girl. She gasped in surprise when a shooting pain suddenly shot through her body. A Ravener demon. The pain was so intense she wasn't sure whether it had broken soething as it fell onto her or if it had poisoned her. The flames that lapped at her veins answered. Poison. She stabbed it repeatedly through the back, hoping to kill it quickly. "Poison." She said to Eros.

[ᴄʀʏsᴛᴀʟғʀᴏsᴛ]

Eros swore under his breath and stepped forward her, his eyes darting from side to side to watch for more demons. They had to get out of there, get back to the institute where Destiny could be treated. He lifted her off the ground into his arms and took off down the street, running as fast as he could while carrying her.

Dizziness and sickness swept over Destiny as the demon's poison pulsed through her veins and they burned like fire. It wasn't the first time she had been poisoned, once she'd even got vampire blood in her bloodstream and had to choke down holy water in order to cleanse her system even.

Eros heard "footsteps" behind him--though it was possible the apparatus the creatures walked on couldn't be called "feet"--but he kept going. The demons couldn't enter the institute. He needed to get there before Destiny died in his arms. He'd hate to have to explain that to the clave.

"D- demons." She muttered darkly. Of all days today just seemed like a particularly bad one to be poisoned for no apparent reason.
