He picked up the book and sat her back down, handing it to her.

Adara said another quiet thank-you before laying the book on her lap. She stared at it, so many emotions filling her. One stood out: fear.
"Do you know the symbol of eternity?" She whispered, her voice monotone.

He nodded,"I know it very well my love" he told her with firm belief.

Adara thrusted open the book to exactly the page she needed. Her heart stopped.
The snake from her...dream was the same snake in the book.
Adara looked up at him, fear evident in her eyes. "This is the symbol." She held up the book. On the page was a painting of a snake shaped like a sideways 8. It was biting its own tail. This is the snake she saw.

He smiled,"my mother owned this snake, she was an original wizard, she loved to write but she sucked so she let someone else write for her." He told her with a small smile tapping the picture three times.

Adara raised her eyebrows, "Your mother may have owned a snake, not this one. There is only one person who owns this snake and he is Cronus, the God of Time."

"My mom was his apprentice, he gave it to her so no one would find it, though I dont know where it is now, probably haunting people's dreams" he teased.

"Why do you say that?" Adara grinded her teeth. Anger and fear taking over again by the memories of those gray eyes.
Who was his mother? Why didn't Adara ever read about this? Why would Cronus need an apprentice in the first place, and why would this so called apprentice be a human? Cronus ate his own children, it's hard to even think he convided in a human to do his paper work.

He chuckled,"I'm not lying, I'm only telling you because you are my mate, she wasn't a human really if thats what your thinking. Cronus met my mom through a secret organization and he came to trust her, and when he found out he was to be banished or killed or whatever the hell happened to him he took my mother, an original warlock/witch under his wing to pass on whatever he could to her. Sadly she couldn't choose one of her sons to pass that knowledge onto so it's lost in time." He explained.

Adara froze, "Mate?" Every other word drowned out, that one four letter word made her heart flutter.

He nodded,"I'm sorry but it's the only thing I could do to save you" he said.

"What--what did you do?" She gluped.

"Mixed our bloods, made us mates" he said.

Adara placed her hand over her marked neck, "But Parco.."

"He wont come back, you are mine and I am yours now, I took out his blood before it could infect you"

She couldn't find any words to say, she just stared at him in awe.

He blinked and tilted his head,"you ok?"

She nodded her head even though she wasn't sure. Parco wasn't her mate anymore? Does this mean...she's free?

He nudged her,"Adara?"

She did what her mind, body, and soul told her to do. She threw herself onto him and smashed his lips to hers.
