Being a literary editor was an exhausting business. It was pretty much a 24 hour job, having a lot of things to go through to publish a book.

Royal Downwald ran a hand through his black and white hair. The color was split right down the middle, giving him an odd appearance. Authors were exhausting to deal with- they never met deadlines!

He trudged down the slushy street, his shoulder bag slung over his back.

(Hmmm... what clan? I kind of want to do a friends plot)

(Okay I'll use Zak, then. He's clanless too)

Zak tapped his finger against the manuscript he was carrying. It was a work of "fiction" about his life. He's publish it as an autobiography, only it contained information about the Secret World. Not that he really planned to publish it at all. The Protectors would probably be pissed if he released information about their precious little Secret World.

Royal, being like a walking zombie, bumped into Zak, having not realized he was there. The young man stumbled back and blinked tiredly, "Oh- I'm so sorry!"

[ᴄʀʏsᴛᴀʟғʀᴏsᴛ]

The manuscript tumbled out of Zak's arms, landing with a splash in the half-melted snow. "S***!" he exclaimed, scrambling to pick it up. The front page was soaked, the ink bleeding across the paper.

Royal's eyes widened and he hurried to help, "Oh god, I'm really sorry. I wasn't paying attention at all, oh geez.." he stammered.

[ᴄʀʏsᴛᴀʟғʀᴏsᴛ]

"It's okay," Zak muttered as he gathered up the rest of the pages. "I have it on my laptop at home."

"Is it..a story?" He couldn't help but be curious. It looked a lot like the manuscripts he worked with.

[ᴄʀʏsᴛᴀʟғʀᴏsᴛ]

Zak nodded, looking at the slushy ground. "Uh... yeah. It's not very good, though."

"I work as an editor," He smiled and handed him the rest of the papers, "I look at this kind of stuff every day."

[ᴄʀʏsᴛᴀʟғʀᴏsᴛ]

"Really?" Zak asked, perking up with interest.

"Yep- I work closely with authors to get their work published," He smiled.

[ᴄʀʏsᴛᴀʟғʀᴏsᴛ]

"I don't suppose... well," Zak blushed before going on, "that you could read mine."

Royal looked surprised, "Oh? Sure! I'd love to! I always like reading new work."

Zak looked down at the soggy papers in his hands. "I guess I should print a new copy out first."

He smiled and nodded, "Would you like my number, so we can get into contact about it?"

"Yeah! Of course. That'd be great, man," Zak said. Was this really happening to him?
