The hardest thing to do is please others. Humans especially are greedy creatures that always want more than they can have. Even when they seem to be happy, there is always a glint of unhappiness there.
Ciel Montgomery had the unfortunate pleasure of being a total people-pleaser. He always wanted those around him to be happy before himself. The bluenette sighed and blew a strand of his unique colored hair out of his face. He was being run ragged as the assistant to a big-shot CEO of a company. Ciel always admired people with ambition like that, so he wanted to work under him and learn all he could.
The young eighteen year old hurried down the street, dressed in a nice little suit and tie as he was requested. A small leather eyepatch covered his right eye- the result of an accident in his younger teen years. He was balancing his boss's dry cleaning, as well as a couple different lattes for the office. He did most of grunt work around the building, mostly running errands for the higher ups.
His best friend and roommate, Alois, had been bugging him for months to stop letting himself be used as rug that people could wipe their shoes on. He could meet a nice guy, settle down and be treated with the respect he deserved! But Ciel always insisted that he was happy and he didn't need a new job. He liked his job. Most eighteen year olds didn't get this kind of chance.
Ciel took a deep breath as he stopped, waiting for the light to change so he could cross the street.
