Ruine skipped along the dirt road, humming to herself, as a basket thumped against her thigh. She had just come back from visiting her grandparents, who were living in Camelot. The smell of freshly baked goods drifted through the air, earning a large smile from the girl. Though she knew that there was bound to be some trouble as she got back, Ruine had decided to take the risk and go along this path. Sure, bandits and thieves were known to haunt this path, but what's life without a little sense of adventure?

(okay haha)
A dark shape moved through the wooded path, eyes on the ground, a furred coat draped over his shoulders. His dark hair blew across his forhead and sheltered his looming, charcoal eyes. His name was Jon, though not many knew him. He was an orphaned child, though by now he'd grown into his body at the age of 16 summers. Everything about him was striking, the line of his jaw, the almond shape of his eyes, the curve of his half smile, his chiseled body. He raised his eyes and noticed the girl skipping along the path in front of him and raised an eyebrow.
Ruine slowed to a stop, as she felt eyes on her back. She met the other man's eyes and took a hesitant step back. It was a little unnerving to be around other men, considering her petite figure. Her simple brown dress twitched a little, as she took another small step back. The commoner swallowed a little, her stomach rolling. "C-can I help you?" Ruine hated that her voice was quiet and shaky, and she swallowed again.

The man smiled slightly, the left side up his mouth curling up into a smile. He held his hands up in a harmless manner. "I'm a knight of the Kingdom of Odin miss, youj have nothing to fear," he said. They were a few steps from another now.
Her stance didn't change, it seemed as though she grew even warier. "Then why are you on this trail, sir?" Ruine asked pleasantly, a stiff smile on her lips. "It isn't such a good idea to leave your station, is it?" She continued, twisting her skirt with her fingers.
Ruine slowly blinked, hearing the hesitation in his voice. "And this is where your holiday is? Doesn't seem like one you should've taken," she said, an eyebrow quirked up.
Ruine's lips drew in a thin line. "Just saying its weird that a knight would be out walking so far from home," she muttered, trying to make herself almost shrink. She had been twitchy around other people, especially around those she had never met. So that meant practically everyone.
Ruine blinked slowly and took a small step forward. "Ah, I see," she murmured, nodding like everything made sense now. "I was heading back from visiting my family as well. And er... I was wondering if you could escort me back to Odin. I have some money to pay you for it," she quickly added.
