In all of Sunspear, she was known as the Forbidden Princess. No one except for family and close friends ever got to see Briar Martell. The princess rarely ever went outside to go into town or even ride horses. Her bedroom was up in the highest tower of the Martell stronghold. She is able to see everything from her room, which is the only way she can keep tabs on the city.
It seemed rather cruel, but Briar was used to it by now. She was still able to go out once a month with guards and that could be enough for the seventeen year old. She took a deep breath as she held up her skirts and walked down the tower steps. Her dark hair was back in plait and it fell down as far as her waist. She was dressed moderately, her black dress long and conservative. "It's a shame," People would say if they got a glimpse of her, "She's so beautiful, but doesn't have the shape of a woman."
Briar hummed softly and clasped her hands in front of her as she came down into the main hall.

"Anita," Briar stopped for a moment and turned her gaze to the woman. She managed a small smile, though it was obviously forced, "I hope you've been well." She curtsied gently.
"I'm going out today. Would you like to join me? Surely, I can take care of you."
Her hand reached for her left hip and unsheathed a portion of the sword Anita always carried around.
At her back, two daggers were sheathed, just beside her spine. Hovering over her spine was another dagger. And hidden under her pants was yet another dagger.
Briar's interest was immediately piqued and she smiled, "Truly? You wouldn't mind having me along?" It was rare, if ever, that she was let to roam around outside of the castle. The people of Sunspear only ever had small glimpses of her.
She scrunched her nose and pursed her lips, "What does that have to do with freedom? Pants are for men, anyways. I've see women ride horses in dresses before."
Briar didn't want to change in front of Anita. She never changed in front of anyone, not even her handmaidens. After all, there was a reason she was always locked away.
Briar took the clothing without another word and spun on her heel, heading for a safe place to change. She didn't want to, but the fear of Anita refusing to take her out otherwise made her give in.
She came back in, now dressed down in the pants and shirt, though she looked uncomfortable with it, "Yes, m'am," she responded and walked over to her and the horse.
Anita nodded. "Now, Arget is a very special horse. Not only because she's mine - but because almost everyone in the castle can fit in her seat. Do you realize how... Unique that makes her?"
She didn't wait for an answer, stroking the brush down Arget's forelock.
"I want you to take a brush and start going over her coat in circles. In circles, blending with the natural way the coat goes. Do you need me to demonstrate?"
