Who's popular in what?

So I've noticed something rather peculiar.

Private threads are more common than open ones.

And when open ones are posted, it's like some sort of taboo- "Don't go to that one, that one's cursed!"

So this is my little poll, as well as a few questions that I'd like you to answer in the comments below:

Do you still notice open threads?

Do you reply to open threads?

Are private threads more popular than open threads?

This can change a lot about a site. Because if it's all private- why keep the site open to new members?

I reply to open threads, especially when new members post them. I do prefer planning a thread out first, though. And the reason I usually don't reply to open threads because I have waaaay too many threads to reply to already.

I don't normally reply to open threads because I like to think a plot out first so it doesn't get all awkward and you can't figure out anything to do

I don't post them much because it seems like people don't reply to them as much as they used to.

I normally reply to open threads if they interest me.

I try to reply to them if I come up with a good enough reply ^_^' and if I have time. I don't like starting on something and then having to drop out of it for a few days. Or weeks.
