Mira flashed a grin. "I was only joking, you dolt," she said, reaching up to ruffle his hair.

Colton ducked his head slightly and quickly stood up, "We should get back to the Academy as soon as possible. Who knows if that's the only Strigoi around here."

[ᴄʀʏsᴛᴀʟғʀᴏsᴛ]

"The prince is right," Doru said as he walked up to the three teenagers. "We have to get out of here. Now. Plus, the sun will be up in a few hours, and we don't have a car anymore. We'll have to walk."

Colton grimaced, "Walking. Great. We'll be even more exposed now. More Strigoi could attack us."

[ᴄʀʏsᴛᴀʟғʀᴏsᴛ]

"Just stay close to me, and try not to make too much noise," Doru said. "And move as quickly as you can."

Colton nodded and walked over to Doru.

Doru ushered the three students forward. Mira moved slowly, her head spinning as she stood up. This was going to be a long trip.

Colton quickly took up the lead, glancing around. His already pale face seemed even paler right now and his hair was a shock of blonde against everything else.

[ᴄʀʏsᴛᴀʟғʀᴏsᴛ]

Mira limped along, supported by Dima, until Doru noticed and just swept her into his arms. He carried her easily, despite her protests and demands to put her down.

Mira's indignant behavior made Colton smile- even after dying and coming back, she was still strong as ever.

[ᴄʀʏsᴛᴀʟғʀᴏsᴛ]

"Be quiet, novice," Doru said gruffly. When Mira still didn't shut up, he gave her a swift cuff to the ear. She scowled at him but fell silent.

"It's better to keep quiet, in case there are any Strigoi nearby," Colton murmured, glancing back at Mira.

[ᴄʀʏsᴛᴀʟғʀᴏsᴛ]

Mira glared at Colton for taking Doru's side, but she couldn't really argue with that. She held her tongue, despite the indignity of being carried. Dima patted her arm comfortingly, which didn't seem to help at all. If anything, it just made it worse.

Colton didn't seem to notice Mira's unhappiness- he was too worried that more Strigoi might show up.

Luckily, no more Strigoi showed up. Unfortunately, they were still a long way from the academy when the sun peeked over the horizon, which was bad news for the Moroi.

Colton squinted his eyes at the rising sun, "We need to hurry.."

[ᴄʀʏsᴛᴀʟғʀᴏsᴛ]

"Can you two jog?" Doru asked the two Moroi. "If we hurry, we can still make it."

Colton nodded, "Yeah, I'm fine with jogging."

Dima nodded affirmatively and broke into a jog beside Doru. The guardian kept a stony face as he jogged forward, Mira in his arms.
