ＡＮＧＥＬ ᴡɪᴛʜ ᴀ ＳＨＯＴＧＵＮ (Locket)

Sajay sat on the wet pavement, head in her arms as she wept as hard as the sky. Rain showered down on her, running down her face and mixing with her tears. Nearby were two men, sprawled out on the pavement. Dead. She knew that without having the check. She'd killed them. She didn't care about the rain, the cold. The only thing that mattered was the fact that she'd killed. Again.

He could see her, crying and curled up on the pavement, even in the rain. He could see everything about her, clear as day. Ambrose Sterling moved on swift feet, approaching her. He was quiet, but made sure to clear his throat as he neared so he didn't startle her too much.

[ᴄʀʏsᴛᴀʟғʀᴏsᴛ]

Sajay gasped and looked up, hastily wiping the tears from her eyes when she saw him standing there. "I didn't... I just found them... please don't call the cops..." At the end of those words, she started sobbing again.

"Don't you worry," Ambrose stooped down beside her and laid a gentle hand on her shoulder, "That's not why I'm here."

[ᴄʀʏsᴛᴀʟғʀᴏsᴛ]

Sajay looked at him with reddened eyes. "Then why... why are you here?" she asked in a small voice.

Ambrose smiled, his white teeth nearly blinding. There was something ethereal about him, the way his body seemed a little fuzzy around the edges, though his eyes were clear and sharp. He radiated warmth, too, like a heater in the winter or a fuzzy blanket, "I am here to watch over you, Sajay."

[ᴄʀʏsᴛᴀʟғʀᴏsᴛ]

Sajay blinked as if trying to clear her vision, but that blur didn't go away. "Are you... an angel?" she asked breathlessly.

He put a finger up to his lips and winked, "Not here," he told her, glancing around. Ambrose rose to his feet and extended his hand to her, "Come with me."

[ᴄʀʏsᴛᴀʟғʀᴏsᴛ]

Sajay numbly took his hand and let him pull her to her feet. An angel! She never thought she'd see one; she wasn't even sure she believed in them until now.

Ambrose was gentle in guiding her down the street, away from the gruesome scene. He needed to find somewhere secluded to discuss who he was exactly. You never new who would be listening.

[ᴄʀʏsᴛᴀʟғʀᴏsᴛ]

"Where are you taking me?" Sajay asked. Just because she thought he was an angel didnt mean she trusted him completely.

Ambrose glanced back at her with a smile, "Just away from that scene. There's bound to be other creatures lured in by death."

[ᴄʀʏsᴛᴀʟғʀᴏsᴛ]

Sanjay shivered, both from the cold and something else. "Demons?" She whispered.

"And other dark creatures, yes," the angel nodded.

[ᴄʀʏsᴛᴀʟғʀᴏsᴛ]

"Dark creatures," Sajay murmured. "Malum. Like me."

[нαℓƒ~мσση]

Ambrose didn't respond negatively, "Yes, Malum. Though, I don't think all Malum are bad, Sajay," he glanced back at her.

[ᴄʀʏsᴛᴀʟғʀᴏsᴛ]

"I am, though," Sajay said miserably. "I killed those men in the alley. I did that."

"I know," Ambrose assured her, "I saw."

[ᴄʀʏsᴛᴀʟғʀᴏsᴛ]

"If you're an angel, shouldn't you be shunning me?" Sajay asked. "I'm a murderer."

"It's a little more complicated than that," the angel guided her down a relatively empty street. He had to make sure there were no nosy creatures listening in, "I'm not just an angel- I'm /your/ Guardian Angel."
