"Oh gosh, of course we can," Hareena scooted up so her head laid on his shoulder, "Of course we can.."

"Okay," Cassel said softly. He shifted and put his arms around her, then closed her eyes.

Hareena had the urge to say something to Cassel in that moment, but she didn't want to scare him. So she just kissed his shoulder lightly and sighed in content.

Cassel just held her, content to do that and nothing else. He didn't want anything for her other than for her to be next to him. He needed a warm body there to remind him he was still alive.

"This sounds like a silly question, but why me?" Hareena asked softly.

[ᴄʀʏsᴛᴀʟғʀᴏsᴛ]

"Why?" Cassel asked, like her question was the strangest one he'd ever heard. "Because you're the first person who saw right through me."

Hareena smiled and caressed his chest, "Really? The only person?"

[ᴄʀʏsᴛᴀʟғʀᴏsᴛ]

"Hard to believe, huh?" Cassel smiled. "Some people can be incredibly thick."

"I know. It's pretty sad how thick they are," She chuckled, her shoulders shaking lightly.

"I think thick people make up about 98% of the population," he said with a smile.

"That's terrible for the world," Hareena laughed, kissing his neck lightly.

"Somehow, right now I don't care," Cassel murmured. He ran his hand down her back and tilted his head to kiss her forehead.

"Yeah, me either," Hareena closed her sapphire colored eyes and sighed softly. Nothing else seemed to matter at the moment- only her and Cassel.

Cassel tightened his arms around her and closed his eyes. He just wanted to stay there for a bit... he wanted to sleep and, just once, wake up with her in his arms.

Hareena was quiet, but it was the comfortable silence, where words weren't needed between two people.

Cassel let the silence wash over him. Eventually, though, he had to break it. Something had been left unsaid. "Hareena... I think I might love you," he whispered.

Hareena opened her eyes, blinking in surprise. She didn't expect Cassel to say that to her, at least not out loud, "R-Really, Cassel?"

Cassel shifted so he could look at her. "I don't know. Maybe."

Hareena had to glance away, "Cassel, I'm surprised. I never thought you'd say that."

Cassel blinked. "Why?"
