"I'll wake you up, before we get there," came his soft voice, before he was silent once more. That was the good thing about being on a train, with the wind whistling by and the sound of the train's engine chugging along, it gave someone quite the spot to just be with their own thoughts.

Annaliese was grateful for Zach's kindness. If not for him, she might still be walking. She could be in danger, considering everything. She took a deep breath and sighed, eyes closed.
"Ah, I was just about to wake you up," Zach said, his hand almost on her shoulder to shake her awake. He settled back down on his side of the cart. "We're almost there, in about ten minutes, get ready, alright, ma'am?"
"Not a problem, we wouldn't want you wakin' up in the middle of Ohio, now would we," he said cheerfully, slinging his pole over his shoulder and slowly getting to his feet. He pressed his hand against the wall of the cart, as he struggled to maintain his balance. "Need any help, ma'am?"

He nodded to her, slowly making his way towards the opening of the cart. "Here we are, now enterin' West Virginia," he gleefully said, grasping onto the frame. "We're goin' to be jumpin' in a couple seconds, you ready ma'am?"

"Correct," he said poking his head out of the cart, watching as a small hill gently rose as the train passed it. "There, we're jumpin' there. It won't hurt as much, since we're not jumpin' into the a pile of gravel or the like."
"That's the spirit," he said, letting out a loud laugh. Though he calmed down, as time slowed down as the train crawled closer to the hill. "Now, ma'am," he shouted, leaping out of the train like a feline. He tucked his head between his arms and curled his legs closer to his stomach. Zach let out a soft 'omph' as he collided with the ground. He rolled down the hill, before he came to a stop. Slowly, he tested his muscles, seeing if he had hurt anything in his jump, as he unfurled himself. Wincing a bit, he struggled to his feet, stretching his hands above his head. "Bah...must've hurt something," he muttered under his breath, before he glanced up, seeing how the white woman was.

Annaliese's eyes snapped shut as she jumped, her fall a lot less graceful than Zach's, though at least she didn't miss and end up as a spatter across the ground. She felt the thud of her body connecting with the ground and grunted as she rolled, face first in the grass.
He jogged up to where she lay, crouching down in front of her, his hand outstretched. "Well done, ma'am, that was your initiation into bein' a hobo," he said, trying to hide a chuckle, though failing, "need any help, ma'am?"
He gently pulled her up, careful to not pull anything already hurt. Taking a respectful step back as he made sure she could stand upright and dropping his hand from hers, he placed a hand on the pole and grinned cheekily at her. "Well ma'am, I would personally like to welcome you to West Virginia, where dreams are made a reality...well that's what I heard." He started to set off, his lanky arm that wasn't holding onto the pole swinging at his side. "My Tante Emma's farm is a couple miles away from here, we'll be there soon!"
"No idea," he cheerfully replied, humming a disjointed tune. "Probably a couple hours, I didn't really measure how far it was from where we jumped off. Though I'm sure we'll make it."
