Sasha pelted quickly after him, a happy yip, his tail lashing at his coat.

Alex pauses on a driveway, looking around curiously before crouching, preparing to launch himself onto a roof, his claws flexing excitedly

Sasha scrambled up a tree and crouched on a branch, tilting his head to the moon and letting out a wild, freeing yowl.

Alex purrs, a sound like rasping laughter before leaping onto the roof and crouching there happily

Sasha watched him, his son, his only. He leaped across and skittered to a stop just before he ran into his son.

Alex squeaks happily and begins making his way along the roof top...

(I've been thinking. And thisnis what I got:

A) One of them gets taken by the fam, the other has to travel across the city/country and meets a friend/potential love interest in the process

Or

B) When they return home from the hunt, their house had been broken into and they decide it's too dangerous to stay there any longer, travel to a new city and struggle to find jobs, etc
