Reid saw her return, though didn't acknowledge it. He shifted slightly, as he leaned towards his classmates, not caring what they were saying, but wanting to appear like he was deep in a conversation, as to not talk to her. The Headmistress had already spoken, while she was away, and food had appeared on the plates in front of them. Absentmindedly, Reid picked at the food on his plate, everyone's words going in one ear and out the other.

She ate silently, not really talking to much of anyone. When she was done, Emilaya rose and walked swiftly to the chamber she and Reid had used the day before, practicing her own spells and such.
"You'll never know the endless nights, the rhyming of the rain."
Reid was already there and he glanced up, a grim smile appearing. "Guess you left early too, huh?" He asked, twisting his wand in his hands absentmindedly. He seemed intent of not mentioning what had happened earlier, as he glanced around the room. His eyes darted towards hers and he opened his mouth, before he closed it and glanced away from her. Though Reid didn't seem to want to talk about it, there was still a small part of him that was a bit curious.
He opened his mouth and words tumbled out, before he could stop himself. "Why'd he call you a...'queer?'" His words sounded rushed and breathless, as if he had run a mile. There was a certain hardened tone of his, not an accusing one, but one full of hard questioning.
He gaped at her, his mouth opening and closing, but the words seemed to have vanished. Finally, he seemed to come to his senses, as he nodded slowly. A new look appeared in his eyes, though it wasn't disgust, it was...fascination, as if she was a new creature he had just discovered. "Is that why you don't seem to have a lot of friends, because of people like him running around and calling you names?" Reid asked.

"I don't have friends because I don't like people," She answered and shifted the set of her hips, "But I suppose, being called names like queer and freak have aided my ever-present dislike of others."
"You'll never know the endless nights, the rhyming of the rain."
He pressed his mouth into a thin line, his way of showing sympathy. "I see, however you seem calm - though perhaps not - around me," he said slowly, as if testing the words on his tongue, "am I an exception?" There was a hint of pride in his voice, as he stood a bit straighter, even before she had replied her answer.
He looked disgruntled, as he glanced away, his shoulders sagging a bit. "Well, that's got to count for something," he mumbled, shoving his wand back into his pocket and sitting down on the ground.
The frown deepened, turning almost into a scowl, at her coldness. However, he did nothing to grab her attention; he also needed to focus on his work. His Patronus, he could wait for next time to practice. Now, it was time for a bit of fire
He whipped out his wand, taking a deep breath, before shouting, "Incendio!" Instead of the usual blast of fire, a small burst appeared, spluttering out almost instantaneously.

She didn't bother to help this time. The wounds of difference ran deep into her skin. Emilaya had always been different, had always been.. Queer. She pushed out of her chair, took a long step towards him and yanked out her headphones, grabbing his face and planting her lips on his. "There's a little fire for you," She snarled and pushed him back.
"You'll never know the endless nights, the rhyming of the rain."
He got rigid, a surprised and muffled yelp coming from his throat, as she suddenly kissed him. When she stepped back, his eyebrows looked like they would disappear if they went higher. "What was that?" Reid croaked.
