Kent nodded. "Good. Let's go check it out, then."

She smiled "ok" then started away by his side.

Kent's face was peaceful, which was as good as a smile from him. He usually scowled.

She had on the smallest smile, it wasnt rare to see her smile, considering she always hid her pain behind that.

Kent didn't say anything as they walked. He wasn't really a talkative person, though the whole time he was searching for words to say.

She stayed quiet and bit her lip until her phone rang, she pulled it out of her bag and then looked at the small flip phone screen "its my mother im sorry" she said.

Kent waved his hand. "It's fine. Take it."

She answered the phone but kept walking, screams heard from the phone but she answered only with "yes, yes, im sorry ill be sure to do it, yes, yes, ok bye" then the phone snapped closed.

Kent watched her out of the corner of his eye, not saying anything. He'd heard the screaming, though.

Once it was over she smiled at him and put her phone away.

"Everything okay?" he asked.

She nodded"just the usual

"The usual?" Kent asked, frowning. "This happens to you a lot?"

"Oh was it bad, yeah" she said with an embarrassed smile.

"I'm sorry," Kent said.

"For what?" She asked.

"For... I don't know," he said, shaking his head.

She chuckled then lightly bumped her shoulder against his "silly.." She mumbled with a smile.
