Cei's eyes were wide, but he made his way into the path cautiously. The stranger was promising help, so he had to do this. He kept to the middle of the path, as far away from the hedges as he could.
He made a sound of surprise and slapped away the tiny branches, hugging himself with his arms. Was this some kind of dark sorcery? He shuddered and walked a little faster.
Something metallic captured his ankle in an iron grip before the trap dragged him through a small side tunnel underneath the ground. There was the option of the dirt walls collapsing on top of him and suffocating him. But there was also the option of him reaching the end of the tunnel and seeing what horrors lay in store.
He had to close his mouth to keep the dirt from falling down his throat. He was being jerked around like a rag doll and Cei could barely grasp the situation. Dirt stung his face, creating little cuts along his jawline and chin.
The tunnel broke away into a large room after half an hour of being surrounded by darkness. There was the irritating dripping sound of a pipeline that was leaking and falling into a premade puddle. However, there was no light, whether it was natural or torch. The cobblestone ground was cold, though, and wet, and the room echoed with every drip, giving the sign of a room within a building.
Cei started coughing immediately, his entire body throbbing with pain as he lay in a puddle. What was going on? Where was he? This wasn't the forest anymore, but it wasn't like any place he'd seen. He struggled up into a sitting position, looking around.
There was the light shuffling of small steps being taken before he was lifted by the ankle and hung by a rattling chain from the ceiling, his head hanging several feet from the cobblestone flooring.
He cried out and the sound echoed around him, "H-Help.." Cei tried to say, his body dangling helplessly. He kicked his feet, but all that did was make him sway in the air.
He squinted his dark eyes against the light, making a small sound of fear, "H-Help?" This wasn't the usual thing that Cei was used to. If he tried escaping, he'd be caught and punished, but it was always at his master's home, usually in his bedroom. This place was foreign.
The cloaked figure stood several feet away from him and removed his hood from his head before removing the cloak entirely from his black covered body. He rested the cloak on the back of an iron chair and slowly walked up to the upside down male, hands clasped casually behind his back. "Do you know why I brought you here?" He asked in a soft voice while bending down enough to look him in the eye.
"N-No go back to my m-master?" Cei wasn't sure if this was supposed to be a trick question. He didn't know if he felt very safe hanging upside down. It was beginning to get uncomfortable.
The first part made sense- he'd been forced to work most of his life so that word seemed to be universal. But "taken apart"...He was unsure, "Cei is strong.." He murmured, "Cei can work.."
"Oh for the Lord's sake, quit referring to yourself in third person, it's unattractive." He rolled his grey-blue eyes and rested a hand on his hip, looking down at him with annoyance. "If you're going to work as a servant you're going to abide by my conditions."
