He watched his friend, a look of curious apprehension on his face. He'd sure never acted like that with friends before, "Really, it's okay," he assured him gently.

"No, it's not," Tyrell said shaking his head. "I told myself I would keep you my friend. But I always screw things up. That's why I don't have any real friends. I have friends with benefits and ex-lovers."

Caspian blinked, "I'm fine with it," he told him.

[ᴄʀʏsᴛᴀʟғʀᴏsᴛ]

"Yeah, but the thing is... I don't WANT to just be friends with you," Tyrell said, his voice laced with frustration. "I guess I just don't know how to have friendships."

"Is it..going to bother you?" Caspian clasped his hands together nervously, "I mean, being friends?"

[ᴄʀʏsᴛᴀʟғʀᴏsᴛ]

"No," Tyrell said, giving him a tight smile. "I guess I can try this time. Who knows? Maybe it will actually turn out okay."

He smiled and hugged him happily, "Thank you, Tyrell! I like you and I don't want to lose your friendship."

[ᴄʀʏsᴛᴀʟғʀᴏsᴛ]

Tyrell hugged him back, but his smile faded almost instantly. "I'm glad," he said quietly. D***, this would be hard for him.

"Do you want to come and see my room?" Cas pulled away and beamed. The words were said in the utmost innocent way.

Those were not words Tyrell was expecting to hear after that conversation. He'd told him he was trying to just be friends with him... and now Cas was inviting him to his room? Not the brightest move. But how could he refuse? "Sure."

The boy grabbed Tyrell's hand and tugged him along, "I have soo many books! They're everywhere!"

Tyrell laughed softly and let the other boy pull him along. Maybe the books would be enough to keep him distracted. On second though, probably not.

He opened the door to the bedroom he shared with his twin brother. Skipping over to the far bed, Cas turned and smiled, "See? They can't even fit on the bookshelf!" He gestured to the pile of books on the floor.

"Wow. That's pretty impressive," Tyrell said. And even if he wasn't into books, it was impressive how many Cas had.

He dropped down on his knees by the books, pointing out the piles, "These are sci-fi novels, those are classics," he murmured brightly, "And all of these are romance books!"

"You read romance?" Tyrell asked with a chuckle. "Like, what, Nicolas Sparks?"

"Sure, whatever books I can get my hands on," Caspian replied, glancing up at him, "You've probably never heard of the other authors.@

"Nope, not really," Tyrell admitted readily.

Caspian stood up and hopped onto his bed, criss-crossing his legs, "Well sit down! You don't need to stand there like that."

Tyrell hesitated before taking a seat on the bed. Gee, this was awkward.
