Nala nodded, forgetting her mother couldn't see her for a moment. "Of course," she said, leaning against the wall, "oh, and mom, could you tell dad that I'm at a friend's house? I dunno how well he'll take the news."
She hesitated for a moment, before slowly replying, "Perhaps a couple weeks from now. I don't know when I'll be able to have a break from my work; the barrister there doesn't exactly seem to like me."
"I...I see," Nala said, swallowing. She felt heat rise to her cheeks and she shook her head, her eyebrows pressing together. Sheesh...what a mess she had caused...
Nala leaned against the wall and closed her eyes, a little surprised that she was enjoying this. "So...er...how's your life going?" She finally asked, her voice weak with embarrassment; her social skills for far to none.
Her mother smiled,"ok honestley, people have been bringing us meals since i was to upset to cook, so i havent had to do that, your father is still working on that stupid old impala 67 he mumbled something about finishing it for someone yesterday but I didnt catch who, but yeah works been fine"
She winced. "Ah...sorry about that," she weakly said, feeling a little guilty. So much had happened while she was gone, life moved on without her it seemed. Though, she wasn't complaining; if she had stayed, she would have guessed her delinquent behavior would've multiplied. Stiffling a laugh, she closed her eyes, and allowed her mother's voice to wash over her. Oh, how Nala missed the sound of her mother.
