"Still...I'm a little jealous at that," Nala admitted, picking up another piece of chicken and chewing on it.

"You can do it too you know" she said picking at different foods that Leo had ordered.

She shrugged, looking embarrassed. "I guess so...I'm not exactly book smart when it comes down to it."

She smiled,"thats why this is great"

Nala sighed and took another small bite out of the chicken. "I guess so, though I would have a feeling I would just fail it."

She chuckled,"well its worth a try" she said before filling a small bowl with miso soup

Nala hesitated for a moment, looking like she was struggling with herself internally. Finally, she asked slowly, "Would you mind teaching me? I would like to at least try and get up on my feet."

She smiled,"I'd love too" she said happily.

Kenny smiled,"So Nala, your the new recruit?"

"Thank you," Nala said, smiling weakly. She then nodded to Kenny. "Yep, I'm the newest stray they brought in," she said, trying to joke.

Kia chuckled lightly.

Kenny laughed,"So which one found you, because they both seem to have weak knees for stray dogs?" He teased.

Nala nodded to Kia, smiling slightly. "It was her who brought me in, I was injured when she found me."

Kenny smiled,"what had happened?" He asked.

Kia smiled softly.

The smile turned into a grimace. "I had been caught by one of the larger gangs in this place. I count my luck since I got away with only bruises and scratches."

He gave her a respective nod,"well i am surprised, they tend to just kill the ones they catch."

Nala let out a humorless laugh. "Well, I'm not hating that they let me go," she said, "for once, I'm happy with their stupidity."

They all laughed,"well i'll leave you guys to eat," he said after seeing a few more customers walking in.

"Alrighty, see ya," Nala called after him. Lowering her voice, she glanced at the two. "I like him," she announced, as if it was a huge deal, "he looks a little scary, though he's nice."

Kia chuckled,"hes awesome"

Leo nodded, his mouth full.

"I'm guessing you guys have known him for a while?" She asked.
