MAce chuckled. "Aye, me neither, but he did it! I saw him only once. And I'll tell ya, the mermaid's kiss rumor is true." he admitted. "Tyler, thats the man, told me it were."

"What rumor?" Grace asked curiously.

Mace looked at her with a raised eyebrow. "If you get kissed by a mermaid, then you'll be able to breath underwater. It's true. I saw it."

"I could do with some gills," Grace said, nodding seriously. "It would be very helpful if I ever get thrown overboard someday."

Mace looked at her with an amused look. "Then go find a mermaid to kiss! Though she may be confused you're a lass, not a lad!" Mace joked with a laugh, filling up a mug for one pirate that came up to the bar

"I'm sure there's mermen out there somewhere," Grace mused.

Mace laughed. "If there is, they sure ain't as famous as their sisters! And truth be told, I don't know if there are mermen.... but if there are, they must be weak or somthin'. Only fit to breed with mermaids and make more of em."

Grace nodded thoughtfully. "But maybe they can make me breath underwater. Or perhaps I find can a gay mermaid!" He laughed and slapped her counter.

Mace laughed. "Hey! Maybe! If I could, I'd take you. But it's such a long journey with little or no reward for me.." he said with a sigh

"Maybe you could get a mermaid's kiss, too," Grace said. "You never know what those strange fish ladies might go for."

Mace chuckled. "Maybe, but I'm not exactly 'kissin'' material. But hey, who knows. Maybe I'll find one that's not terrified o' me." He said, scratching his chin. "Hmmm...." He mused, thinking on it

"If I can find myself a fishy lady, you can," Grace said with a grin.

Mace chuckled. "Oh fine. you've convinced me. I'll take you there."

Grace grinned broadly. "Wonderful! How long will it take to get there?"

Mace thought about it. "It depends on the winds and sea, really. A week perhaps, if we're lucky, or more if we're not. You sure you want to go?"

"Definitely," Grace replied with confidence. "My captain won't miss me."

Mace grinned a toothy grin. "Very well then! We'll set sail tomorrow. I just have to get the ship and crew ready then." He said "No backin' out now."

"Would I ever?" Grace asked, grinning back at him.

"Ha! Hopefully not! Now, if yer done, get out of here so I can get the crew all together! I'll get ye once we're ready to sail!" He said

Grace nodded and gulped down the rest of her drink. She gave him one last smile before sashaying out of the pub.
