Pubs, Mugs, and Gold [Oh my~] (open)

(Tis is a character that I made the join for on the site so he is technically there but he's not added yet but blargh it all)

Mace whistled a tune as he opened his pub/tavern up; the Bloated Mug.  He made his way back to behind the bar and yelled back to one of his workers to start cooking in case any customers came in. They usually got packed pretty quickly, since the tavern was owned by a pirate and so brawls were actually allowed. As long as they didn't completely mess up his place, Mace didn't care much. He was fine killing anyone that did happen to mess it up, pirate or no. Humming to himself, he started fixing up the barrels of drinks and putting them in order.

Grace entered the pub and a few conversations fell silent as the gorgeous female pirate swaggered by. She walked right up to the counter and smiled at Mace. "How ya doin', Mace?" she asked. "Haven't killed anyone recently?"

Mace looked over at her and grinned. "Haven't killed anyone? Dear Grace, if I haven't killed anyone in awhile, then I'm not livin' up to me reputation of "Bloody Mace," now am I?" He asked with a laugh, turning to her after putting the barrels in place. "Why just yesterday I had to kill one of em boys from some small ship. got it in his head to try and kill another man what wronged his or some other. Had to throw his head to the fishes." Mace said with a chuckle, bringing up a mug. "So what'll it be? I'm sure you haven't come here just to talk about the men I've killed or to make these other lugs swoon for such a pretty lass. Or maybe You have come for the second part just for a spot o' fun."

"A spot o' fun, aye," Grace agreed. "But I'll be taking a mug o' ale as well."

Mace nodded and turned, filling up the mug with ale and putting it on the counter and pushing it towards Grace. "There ye go." He said. "So, what brings you to port? Repairing yer ship or is your captain selling some junk and treasure she found?" Mace asked, leaning on the bar table.

[ᴄʀʏsᴛᴀʟғʀᴏsᴛ]

"Just a quick stop," Grace answered. "We all needed a break. So we came here."

MAce chuckled. "Aye, that we do.And yer always welcome in my tavern, long as you don't make too much of a mess now." He warned with a wicked smile, but then waved it off. "But I don't expect you to do anything crazy. You've got a cool head, rare among pirates sometimes."

[ᴄʀʏsᴛᴀʟғʀᴏsᴛ]

Grace winked at him. "I'll do my best," she said before taking a swig of her ale.

mace grinned. "good! I expect no less from you!" He said with a laugh. "So, anything interesting happen? Any ships raided or navies avoided?"

[ᴄʀʏsᴛᴀʟғʀᴏsᴛ]

"Aye, many," Grace said with a grin. "Just a week ago, there was this one ship..." And she launched into a story about her own--and the rest of the ship's crew, of course--daring feats as they battled good and advocated piracy. And gathered a lot of loot.

Mace listened to her story, filling up a few more mugs for others that came and went. He laughed a few times and grinned at the end. "Sounds like right good fun, and got a lot of loot to boot, eh? A nice catch. Reminds me of my days aboard Stormfury with we own cap'n."

[ᴄʀʏsᴛᴀʟғʀᴏsᴛ]

"Stormfury was a legend," Grace said, her eyes lighting up. "Cap'n Connell (made up a name xD) was a fearsome man. And you at his right side! Those must have been the days."

Mace laughed. "Oh aye! Those were the days! I loved the fear we inspired." Mace said with a wicked grin, his eyes glinting. "Oh the ships we raided, the navies we avoided. We actually defeated a british ship and sent them packing. Cap'n Connell also sailed to the island of them mermaids. Now that was a tale." Mace said with a chuckle

"Tell me about that one," Grace said, leaning forward. "The island of the mermaids. It must have been somethin' else."

Mace laughed and leaned forward. "Alright... So here's how it went...."


My crew n' Captain had landed on some weird island. We didn't know where we were at first, truth be told. But the land seemed nice, so we set out a few boats and went to shore, leaving a few men behind who wants nothing to do with the island, saying they were getting bad vibes from it. the island itself was great! Lush, beautiful wildlife, and plenty to hunt and eat! We stayed there for a long time until it turned dark and we decided to take back some of the food for supplies. Now, when we went back was when they first appeared. They swam up to one of the boats. Oh, aye, I remember it well. One of our boats had stopped rowing. The Captain and I were in one boat and Connell called over to them. "Oi! What're ya doin', boys?" He bellowed. Next thing I knew, the head of some girl popped out of the water right in front of me. Even I'll admit, she was lovely to look at. She swam over toward our boat, but one man,, Helios was his name, he yelled and started paddlin' like wild, tryin' to get us back to the ship. "MERMAIDS!" He yelled. Soon we rushed our way back and up to the ships, the fishy lasses hot on our tails, heh. We got up safe, but the other boys weren't so lucky as we were. they got taken down, and we only saved one of em'. the Wind was with us and we cleaved any of those stichy catchers them mermaid threw at our ship to try and stop us. We escaped, but barely, and with a loss of a good boat full of men.

While Mace was telling his tale, he continued to work, filling mugs and cleaning others. He stopped in front of Grace when he finished. "So, how's that for a tale?"

"I'd like to see a mermaid someday," Grace said, flipping her long, dark hair over her shoulder. "I'd give her a run for her money, I would."

Mace laughed. "I bet youwould! Actually, the funniest part of the story was the one man we saved fell in love with one of the mermaids. He went back to see her."

Grace's eyes widened. "And what happened?" she asked.

Mace chuckled. "I'm the only one to have heard from him. It turns out.... she liked him too. So they kinda just went together." He said with a shrug

[ᴄʀʏsᴛᴀʟғʀᴏsᴛ]

"A man and a mermaid," Grace mused. "I would have never thought it possible."
