Sneaking out was surprisingly easy, probably because there were rarely guards posted at the back entrance. Tama easily left her home and slipped out into the night. The forest was where Jack said he'd be, so that was where she headed.
"It's not exactly in any particular kingdom. Its a house in the middle of the Camelot forest. Very secluded and safe," he reassured her. "I won't ever let anybody hurt you."
He kissed her forehead but pulled away. "We have to keep moving. They will soon find me to be missing," he said, "and then look or you an find you're not there either. They'll find us if we don't make some leeway."
Jack smiled, kissed her one last time, and then led them through the forest. They might find a camp of soldiers and steal their horses so they could travel faster.

Her mind was a blur of possibilities, both good and bad. Adjusting to this very new, very different lifestyle would take some time for her. Going from princess to runaway was overwhelming and Tama knew there would be days in which she'd want to go home, but that would be impossible. She couldn't leave Jack.
Jack's face showed no emotion, but inside, his heart was broken. This was his homeland he was leaving, the land he had rarely traveled out of when he was younger, and even less when he had become a knight. And he knew he was hurting Tama but Jack couldn't live without her.
