He chuckled. "We should reach our destination within two days of walking. We might be able to steal some horses so it'll take even less time," he commented as an afterthought. He looked up at the dark night sky.

The princess took a bite of the bread, chewing it up happily. Hoisting her bag onto her shoulder, Tama looked to Jack and nodded. A month ago, she would never have dreamed of stealing horses from someone, but what other choice did they have? This way, they could evade bandits and other ruffians.
They kept walking for several minutes in the dark until Jack spotted a campfire. He held a hand up to Tama, signaling her to stop. "I can see their horses. We'll steal them," he murmured softly.
"Then we run. I can fight them if we get caught, but if we do I want you to run. Okay?" he said seriously. He wasn't about to take no for an answer. "Besides, look," he pointed to some empty glass flasks around their tents. "I suspect they're drunk."
Jack took a deep breath and crawled silently towards the tied horses. They were all silent and calm so it was an easy job to mount and quickly gallop away.
