Taryn trudged up to the front door and unlocked it with her key. It took a few tries to get the key to go into the slot.

Allie sat in her car, watching Taryn concerned for her still. It was taking her quite a while to open her door.

Taryn finally stepped inside and turned to wave at Allie before closing the door behind her. She walked up the stairs, taking extra care so as to not stumble.

Allie woke up her curly hair resembling an afro. She smoothed it down, more or less, and checked the time. It was 8:26 am.

Taryn woke up with a serious hangover. She groaned and touched her temple, groaning.

Allie threw her blanket off of her and stood up, she stretched with her arms over her head. Then lazily walked to the bathroom.

When Taryn came down to the kitchen, her mother was already there. She kept her eyes down, but the woman could spot something wrong with her a mile away. "Honey, are you okay?" she asked worriedly. "Fine, Mom," Taryn said as cheerfully as she could.

Allie took a quick shower, not washing her hair, and hopped out with a towel wrapped around her body and her toothbrush in her mouth. "I should call Taryn." she mumbled to herself.

Her mother narrowed her eyes. "Come on, honey. Tell me what's wrong." Taryn groaned. "Nothing, Mom! Just leave it alone, okay?" Then she stormed out of the room, leaving her half-eaten breakfast behind.

As soon as Taryn entered her room, her phone started ringing. Allie laid on her bed in her undergarments staring up at the ceiling waiting for her to pick up.

Taryn groaned and clutched her head before picking up the phone. "What is it?" she asked, knowing it was Allie by the caller ID.

"Just making sure you're alright. Jeez!" she said with a huff at the end.

"Sorry," Taryn said, while in the process of rubbing her temples. "I just have this killer headache. And I'm in a bad mood. My mom suspects something."

"Chill. I'll be over in a little bit." then she hung up and got dressed.

Taryn sighed as she lowered the phone from her ear. She felt like crying when she thought of Duncan again. They'd been together for years. And he'd just decided to break up with her? Like that?

Five minutes, tops, and Allie was walking into her room "Your mom let me in." she breathed. She took a bottle of aspirin out of her backpack and a water bottle. Then a tub of Taryn's favorite flavor ice cream and they're favorite movie.
