With how long this day had been, Leland felt his eyes growing heavy as he listened to sound of the kitchen clock ticking away the minutes. After awhile--how long he wasn't quite sure--he fell asleep with Jessica in his arms.
Leland eventually stirred, disoriented about his surroundings for a minute before realizing he was asleep on the living room floor.
He looked down at Jessica sleeping in his arms. He'd wished it had been a bad dream, not to say he didn't like having his childhood friend back, but he wished for both their sake that she'd never ran into those evil beings at the club last night. Why hadn't he stayed closer to her? Why had her let her go off with that man? He was angry at himself for letting this happen to Jessica.
Nothing he could do about that now. There was only one question that needed to be answered now. What now?
Leland stared at her mouth, trying not to seem off-put by the fangs. "I'm not really a breakfast kind of guy..." He comments, swallowing the small amount of fear he felt. Jessica had made no move to hurt him and showed no signs of doing so willingly.
"I refuse to believe all..." he hesitated for a minute, not knowing how she'd react to the word, "vampires...are like the ones you ran into at that club."
