Serena raised her eyebrows at her, like she thought Alianna was joking. Finally she slowly replied, "I just feel like someone's watching us, even though I know nobody is there."
Serena smiled at her lady, before bowing her head slightly. "Have a good night, see you in the morning." She quietly closed her door and slid into her bed, sighing. For some reason, this bed didn't seem as bad as it had been.
Threuss let out a growl, stalking through the forest, his hands clenching and unclenching. This was ridiculous! He shouldn't have lost them so easily! Muttering under his breath, he shoved a branch out of his way, and stopped. Glancing around, he looked at this new town. A large grin appeared as he slid down the hill. This must be the spot where his scouts had reported finding Alianna. Enjoy your freedom now, princess....
Since Alianna couldn't sleep, the princess-turned-servant slipped out of her bedroom and climbed a staircase up to a public balcony overlooking the forest. She rested her head on her hand and just gazed.
(Sorry it's taking me so long to reply; I'm sneaking on and off AARP. c: Because I am just the best ninja around)
Threuss gestured for his men to follow him. It hadn't been as big as it had, when they had first captured the princess; she had killed some of his men. Though that hadn't meant anything to him; once he was set on something, he didn't stop until he got it. The group snuck through the town, eyeing each building, trying to figure out where she was.
Alianna spotted a torch moving in the distance, squinting to see who it was. She saw the glint of swords and a bit of light fell on the leader's face. She recoiled in fear. Threuss! She gasped and rushed back down the stairs, nearly tripping on her dress. She hurried back to her and Serena's rooms and knocked furiously on her door. "Serena!"
There was a tired grunt, the shuffling of feet, before the door was opened. "Wha-?" Serena murmured, rubbing her eyes with the back of her hand, blinking her eyes blearily up at Alianna. "Wha's goin' on?"
"Serena, I was just on a balcony and I saw... I saw- Threuss! He knows we're in this town- he's going to find us! We have to hide somewhere!" Alianna blurted out with terror in her voice. "I can't reveal my powers to these people- they'll execute me or something. Who knows what they think about sorcery!"
Serena blinked rapidly, trying to focus on one of the Aliannas swarming her vision. "Threuss? But how could he have found us?" She asked, her muddled brain slowly trying to comprehend the situation. She suddenly put up her hand, pressing a hand to her temple, continuing, "Never mind. You're right, we need a place to hide. Any ideas?"
