Serena gritted her teeth, a flame of anger flickering in her stomach. "No need to be so ticked," she muttered under her breath, standing aside as the soldiers staggered out.
Alianna ignored the comment in an effort to save time and gazed at the soldiers. "Get your swords- there is a man who has attacked and kidnapped the prince and princess- we must save them."
The soldiers started to mutter amongst themselves, trying to hide yawns behind their hand. "How did he get by our defenses though?" One man piped up, seeming to truly be concerned for all of this.
The soldier who had asked the question looked hurt at what she said. "Of course we do," he said, glancing at the other soldiers. Some of them had slowly trailed off, going back to their games and drinks. Though the rest, the ones who hadn't been drinking, and who had been watching the night, stayed behind, staring at the two woman warily.
"Then get your weapons and hurry up! We cannot take this man alone, we need you soldiers!" Alianna pleaded. "Please! I can only imagine what they are going through- I heard them talking about looking for somebody and using them to bargain for that person..."
The soldier gritted his teeth, his hand reaching for his sword. "Lead us to these people you say have captured our prince," he said, nodding to her, "but, if you are lying, we will not hesitate to strike you down." He looked completely serious, his mouth pressed into a thin line.
Alianna gave an inward laugh but led them towards the men who had captured the prince. She prepared herself inwardly to fight the man who had caused her and her father such strife in the past.
(I was thinking that after the fight, Threuss escapes and goes & ruins Aquos )
The soldiers ran after her, their feet pounding against the floor. They still seemed hesitant in following her, as if they still believed that she had some thing to do with this capturing. "Where is this fellow, miss?" One of the soldiers called up to her.
"Below, at the front door to the castle. He might have moved, though," she said. When they arrived, she crouched down and looked around. She pointed. "There is the prince."
Prince Abaet had started to rouse, his head lolling to the side. "Wha's going on?" He slurred, his head muddled still muddled from the hit of the sword's hilt.
The soldiers started to mutter, unsheathing their swords slowly. "We need to divide and conquer," one whispered in her ear, their eyes on the kidnappers. Well, kidnappers weren't exactly the right word; they still hadn't left the castle, so technically, they hadn't kidnapped the prince and princess.
Alianna nodded. "Half of you go around the other side and try to draw them off- this man won't send all his men at once- he's too smart. The rest of you stay with me and we will wait for the men to leave to attack. I'll get the prince and princess free and get them to safety while you fight."
Some of them looked confused, glancing at one another, almost scoffing. "You'll get them to safety, while we risk our lives?" One demanded, sarcasm seeping into his voice, "typical woman action; leave the men to fight while you run and hide." He then shrugged, seeming to leave that where it was, as if he was sweeping the comment under a rug. "You four men, go on ahead, make some noise," he commanded, pointing at the four. The men nodded and almost seemed to disappear into the darkness. "You three, go around the back, see if you can catch any of them off guard." Once the seven left, there were only seven people left, including Alianna and Serena.
Alianna grit her teeth a the sexist comment but wasn't prepared to reveal her powers. "I will handle the royals and then come help you. Helpless, are you, that you need me to help you?"
Alianna looked at Serena with a pointed look and then waited for the distraction. "You were complaining about me not fighting- we'll see what you say after this battle."
(I was also thinking that this could be a society where magic is rare and revered- it's kind of the opposite of Aquos!)
(Ohh. That'd be cool! Alianna and Serena could head there to get help from more mages/wizards to defeat Threuss or something.)
The soldier's smile was thin. "I'm sure you will," was his only comment, wrought with sarcasm. He was silent, waiting for the sign to go, when suddenly, loud noises of something crashing to the floo, shattered the silence. As if on cue, Threuss gestured for three men to leave and find out what that was.
(Cool xD But head where? I was just thinking that she was forced to demonstrate her powers during the battle and they are all amazed or something xD)
Alianna nodded to herself. Now there were four men and Threuss, only one of which was watching the prince and princess. She waited for anothed distraction to sound because after they had killed the men who had just went and saw what the calamity was they could take Threuss and his remaining men easily.
