Alianna held in her own snort, knowing that it would be disrespectfully to argue. "Well, I'm sure you could use some company. Being laid up is no fun."

He shrugged, his hand still over his eyes dramatically. "By all means, be my guest," came his muffled reply, "make yourself at home."

Alianna nodded but instead started cleaning the room up.

He raised his arm a bit to look at her, a frown tugging on his lips. "Why're you doing that?" He asked, his mouth turning into a thin line, "someone else can do that."

"I don't want to be completely useless," she said with a smile. "Im making myself at home by cleaning."

[mationix]

He raised an eyebrow, though said nothing against it. "Alright, if you say so," he muttered. Under his breath, he continued, "Servants confused me all the time."

Alianna continued picking up his room.

[mationix]

He watched her for a while, before closing his eyes again. "I saw you talking to my wife last night, you two seem to get along," he commented lightly.

Alianna nodded. "She's very nice," she replied.

[mationix]

The prince said nothing, though he gave a quiet snort. "If you say so," he said, putting his arm over his eyes to try and shield himself from the light.

She stopped cleaning for a minute and looked at him. "She's just... afraid of you."

[mationix]

"Well yeah, a lot of people who are forced to marry one another are wary of the other. That's the whole point of arranged marriage, to catch the two off guard." His voice turned bitter as he spoke.

"I know just as well as you do the costs and purposes of arranged marriage," she murmured.

[mationix]

The prince rolled his eyes. "Right, I'm sure you also ride a magical dragon," he scoffed.

She chuckled to herself, wishing desperately that she could tell him her story.

He turned towards her, rolling on his side. "Why the laugh?" He asked, a frown on his face.

"No reason," she said. "I just found your comment amusing. Is that so wrong?"

[mationix]

He shrugged and rolled back to look up at the ceiling. "No, but if it was a derogatory comment about me, then we'd have a problem," he replied easily.

Alianna shook her head and looked at him. "No, it's not that at all. It's just..."

He held up a hand, stopping her. "If you don't want to talk about it, that's fine."
