Alianna extinguished the fire people and looked at Serena. "I feel that the best idea of a future lays in that country. I found something," she said as she held something thin and round and silver up.
Alianna smiled and held up a silver diadem. It looked like a laurel of leaves except that it was made of silver. "I found it in my trunk- it somehow survived the fire."
Alianna looked at her and then shrugged. "Whatever you need to tell yourself. Anyways, if we go back to that country and show them that we used to be royalty... we could sell this and get enough money to support ourselves until we find another job.
"And then what? Live out there with Threuss still hunting you?" Serena asked, letting out a pleased sigh as the fire grew larger. She grabbed a small handful of berries and stuck them on the edge of a stick, sticking them into the flames.
"We could even build a house," she pressed on. "Live on the edge of the town and work during the day. I would put detection and shield magic over the house, of course, and protect it very well. We could hire a wait saff, too- this diadem is worth more than all my dresses and my bed combined."
Serena held up a hand, trying to stop her. "Listen, that idea is great, amazing even. Though we have a maniac chasing after you," she said, trying to gentle her voice, "even if that does happen, it'll be a matter of time before he finds you."
"I'm not talking about magic. He has more men than we have fingers or toes. If he gets enough people to go against you, we would have a riot," she replied with a grimace.
"Want one?" Serena asked, her voice muffled from the food, holding a bunch of berries up to Alianna. She swallowed and said in a clearer voice, "It's actually pretty good."
