He shrugged, stretching. "Dunno, some princess, I believe. My father wants to have a tie to another city; having more land is good for him too," he replied.
He shrugged gathering his cloths. "I couldn't care less," he replied, already shrugging off his robe. Unlike where Alianna was, the nude body was more than something that only a person's lover shoulder see; it was a form of art to these people.
Alianna nearly gasped but stopped herself and cast her eyes to the floor. She blushed profusely as he dressed. "Where do you keep your shoes, Your Grace?"
"Over there somewhere," he said, not seeing her blush. It had been a common thing for him to dress in front of his servants and had thought nothing of it; why hesitate in doing something you've been used to? He buttoned up his shirt, his eyes closed, mentally preparing himself for the ceremony.
She didn't notice his gesture, thinking it strange that he didn't know exactly where he kept his shoes. She found them and found a pair of nice, black leather boots. She brought these to the prince once he was dressed and handed them to him.
He slipped into them, wiggling his toes in them. Letting out a say, he brushed himself off of invisible specks of dust. "That is all, you may go now," he said, not glancing up to see if she left, believing that she would have left as soon as he had opened his mouth.
Alianna, after a whirlwind of a day, found herself standing in the back of a chapel with the other maids. She wore a black dress with a long apron and black slipper shoes that she had been given. She watched as a slight young woman walked slowly down the aisle in a long white dress.
The prince looked actually quite bored and uninterested, as his bride walked down the isle, as if this was not one of his most important moments of his life. As his bride got closer, he put on a large and charming smile, holding out his hand to her.
With a veil on, it was hard to tell that tears were streaming down the girl's face. But she took her fiancee's hand and together they kneeled in front of the altar, which had ten shrines to each of the ten gods and goddesses.
Alianna was bored as well, but she hated to see another royal going through the pain of an arranged marriage. She also felt badly for the girl because she knew that eventually she would have to marry some strange nobleman.
The prince lowered himself down and whispered to his to-be bride, "Listen, I don't like this as much as you do, though we have to do this, for our father." He straightened and looked up at the priest, dipping his head for him to start.
The priest raised his hand and called out, "Prince Abaet, do you take this woman to be your wife?" The prince nodded, glancing at his bride in the corner of his eyes.
The girl seemed to hold her breath when the priest started, her eyes still watering but she refused to let her wails be heard. She barely reacted when the prince talked to her. The priest asked her for her vows and she hesitated. "I do," she said in a foreign accent, her voice wavering.
The priest flourished his hands in the air. "I now pronounce you husband and wife, you may kiss the bride." Prince Abeat kissed her, though it was full of nothing, and it was quickly over with. He got to his feet, a dazzling smile on his face, as he waved to the crowd, holding out a hand for his bride.
The girl took his hand and allowed him to kiss her, but she didn't react. She looked out over the crowd and her eyes fell on Alianna. The servant gave her a small encouraging smile.
