By the corner of a street, stood a lanky man, dressed in an all white magician outfit. A small crowd had gathered around him, some looking suspicious or excitement. Tilting his hat down, he grinned, spreading his hands wide. "My dears, I am the magnificent Crispin. Allow your minds to relax, or else this shan't work," he said, winking. For a moment, he was quiet, before he suddenly took his hat off. Bright white hair fell to his chin, earning a collective murmur from the crowd. He concealed a smirk with a wave of his hand. "Please, keep your eyes on this," he said, moving his fedora left and right, to show that nothing was in there. "Now, with a flick of my hand..." As he drew his hand over his hat, he murmured a quiet incantation, gritting his teeth in pain.
Something sparked in his hat and a large smokey creature erupted from his hat, opening its large mouth wide. The crowd startled, horror and interest flickering in his eyes. The creature disappeared into the air, leaving a faint raspberry scent. The crowd slowly clapped, their simple minds trying to grasp what happened, the men grumbled under their breath. Crispin bowed again and again, offering his hat around. He grinned as he saw what he had collected, when he finally flicked his hand over the money, the small collection of bills disappearing. He set it back on his head, sweeping his hand to his hip, a grin on his handsome face. "Adieu, my dears. Until we meet again." He snapped his fingers, disappearing in a cloud of smoke, earning small gasps from the crowd.
The "magician" reappeared a couple blocks away, chuckling as he shoved his hands back into his pockets. Oh how easy it was to confound these pitiful creatures; their minds were developed enough to understand the meaning of true magic. Ah well, it didn't matter... As long as he made a couple of dollars here and there, he was happy.
