Once the song was over he fell silent, finishing off all the beautiful dishes then looking over at him "warm yet?" He asked

He snapped back into reality, "Oh, yes! I'm fine now, thank you," Cei smiled shyly.

He smiled "and how is the turkey looking" he said

He peered into the oven curiously, "It looks g-good!"

He smiled and looked at the golden brown turkey "ill leave the oven on if your still cold but i need to get the turkey" he said with a small chuckle, he was always happier when he was cooking.

"Oh no," he shook his head quickly, clasping his hands behind his back, "You can turn it off. It's a waste to leave it on."

"Well if your still cold how is that a waste?" She asked

"The Master wouldn't want the oven on if it wasn't being used," He shook his head again, pursing his lips.

He shrugged "alright then if you insist" he said then grabbed the hot pan with the turkey without flinching and put it on top of the stove, as if he couldnt feel it burning his skin.

"W-What are you doing?" Cei gasped, bouncing over to his side, "Doesn't that hurt?"

After putting it on top of the stove he looked at him a bit surprised then at his hands which were rough and more than the usual five layers of skin seemed to be dead "ah no it doesnt" he had been doing so much work his hands had become so tolerant to pain he couldnt feel it.

Cei gently grabbed his hands and peered down at them, "But you just grabbed that from the oven! It had to be burning hot.."

His hands were soft though if you pushed on then it was hard. "Yeah its hot" he said.

The boy frowned, "You should run your hands under w-warm water," he advised, "It'll blister if you don't."

His hands didnt even have a mark but he shrugged "alright"

Cei nibbled on his bottom lip, "Let me go fetch some water, then," he told him softly.

He nodded.

The boy shuffled outside to fetch water from a well and hurried back. The water was cool, but it would work. He brought the bucket over to Carter and gestured for his hands, "Here.."

He held out his hands for him

Cei took Carter's hands and dipped them in the bucket, his eyebrows pinched in concentration.
