Nala raised an eyebrow at her, almost scoffing at what Kia had said. "Yeesh, I think I can walk myself home, I can take care of myself, ya know." She gave small snort, even though Nala was a bit embarrassed by the worry.

She frowned sadly,"please, just call, It'll make me worry"

She gave a small shoulder shrug, feeling the embarrassment creep up her neck. "Sure, if it'll make you stop clucking around me like a mother hen."

Kia nodded,"I will," she agreed reluctantly.

Nala clapped her hands together, getting back to the task at hand. "Excellent, now that that's solved, I'll be off. Need anything while I'm gone?" As she spoke, she wandered around the room, gathering her shoes and slipping them on.

She laid down and yawned,"no, I think we are all stocked up"

"Understood." She got to the door and hesitated for a moment, before glancing over her shoulder. "I guess I'll see you later...?" She said, her voice raising in a question.

She nodded,"yeah, call me, I'll be waiting."

She gave a small nod in Kia's direction, before walking out and closing the door.

Time Skip

As Starbucks was closing, Nala was standing right outside at phone booth. She had called Kia and Leo's house's number, hoping either one would pick up.

Kia picked up on the first ring having jumped to answer,"hello?"

"Ah, there you are," Nala said, putting a hand on her hip. "Listen, I just wanted to call to tell you that I'm heading back to your place," she continued, letting her gaze drift around the scenery.

"Oh! I'll come get you!" She said happily running around to grab her shoes.

Her attention snapped back and she quickly replied, trying to deter Kia, "Er, no, no, no, that's fine. I can walk back myself."

She frowned,"are you sure" she whimpered softly.

Nala rolled her eyes, even though she felt grateful of her worrying. "Of course I'll be fine, mom," she said sarcastically, glancing up at the sky.

"Ok, please, hurry, and stay super safe" she whimpered.

"Jeez, you're acting like I'll be attacked by a gang or something," Nala joked, letting out a humorless laugh. "Relax, I'll be fine, it's only a couple blocks away from where you are."

She sighed,"you never know what could happen."

Another humorless laugh bubbled out from her mouth. "Right and you're also a witch," she retorted.

She froze then chuckled humorlessly,"just hurry"
