Hareena sighed and twirled around, clutching her hands over her heart, "Wow."

Hareena hastily brushed her hair back as she walked toward the fountain. The air was crisp and she tugged her jacket tighter around herself to fight off the breeze.

Cassel didn't show. Ten minutes went by. Fifteen. Still no sign of him.

She frowned, perched on the fountain edge with her hands clasped in her lap. Time ticked by and Hareena wasn't sure whether to be worried or pissed off. Was Cassel standing her up?

She stood and decided to check his room first, in case he'd gone back there, "Cassel?" She knocked on the door lightly.

No answer. The door knob looked a little askew, like someone had tried to break in. And maybe succeeded.

Hareena frowned and turned, running down the hall. She had to check his classroom. Maybe..maybe he hadn't left yet.

Not too far away, Cassel cracked his eyes open to a dim room. His head hurt like a b****.

Hareena stopped by the science rooms, looking into every one, "Cassel?"

A shadow moved at the edge of his vision and he turned his head. A person stood by a doorway, dressed all in black. He, or she, was hard to focus on. That could be attributed to his aching head, though.

He was gone- just gone! Hareena's heart rate picked up and she started searching the entire school, calling Cassel's name. Didn't matter who gave her odd looks.

[ᴄʀʏsᴛᴀʟғʀᴏsᴛ]

Cassel groaned. "What do you want?" Was this it? Where he was going to die? If it was, why wasn't he dead yet? He wanted to reach up and touch his forehead, but his hands were tied to the chair.

Hareena was panting from running around, her sapphire eyes searching. She checked each classroom, her heart beating rapidly.

The person took a few steps forward, but Cassel still couldn't see them. "You're going to die today." He couldn't tell if it was a man or woman, since the voice was distorted.

Hareena had checked all the classrooms- she switched to the basement, her muscles aching from running and her lungs sore.

"This... this is it? This is how it happens?" Cassel said. "Wow. Well, it's definitely dramatic."

She was surprised how empty and eerie the underground of the school was. It was dank and made her shiver. She listened closely, searching for any sound.

[ᴄʀʏsᴛᴀʟғʀᴏsᴛ]

Cassel fell silent, and when the person didn't answer, he said, "So, what's your power? You must have one if you're going to kill me."

Instead of answering, they pulled out a nice and pressed it against Cassel's arm. He gasped when the blade cut into his flesh.
