Werewolves, also known as a type of lycanthrope, are part of the downworlder population. Like vampires, Werewolves are actually humans who have contracted by a disease from demons that result in their transformation and enhanced abilities. In human form, werewolves have enhanced speed and the ability to turn into their wolf form at free will. As werewolves, they follow the long held tradition of being the mortal enemies of vampires. The demons that gave birth to vampires and werewolves were mortal enemies, and so that predjudice was passed down to their races. Werewolves are not generally born but are usually humans bitten by another werewolf. After the first transformation, it often takes time for the werewolf to be able to resist the effect of the moon in different phases. Many train themselves to be impervious to the moon's effect, but even they are forced into wolf form during a full moon. Following old trends, these werewolves can be killed by silver, and have a natural aversion to it. Each pack is led by an alpha, and any wolf that kills that alpha gains control of the pack. Werewolves have the ability to change into massive wolves. New werewolves change everytime there is a full moon and only then, whereas older werewolves master it and can change into wolf form anytime they want, though they feel a little different during the full moon. More experienced werewolves also have the ability to partially change into wolves, like making their claws extend and their eyes become wolves' eyes without fully transforming.
