"I don't let people say that to me," Hareena played with the collar of Cassel's shirt, pinching it between her fingers, "It's too personal, it makes things more complicated, you know? Brings a lot of emotion into it."

Cassel smiled down at her. "Well, you're beautiful," he said. Then he leaned down to kiss her again.

Hareena smiled, fingers curling around the fabric of his shirt. She kissed him back, lips parted, body shifting under his so she could find the perfect, most comfortable position.

Cassel ran his hand down her arm. When he looked at her again, there was sadness in his eyes. This couldn't last... This happiness. Things like this had never worked out for him.

"Cassel, don't think about that," Hareena whispered, her fingers stroking the back of his neck, "Please.."

He rolled to the side so he was laying next to her. "How do you know what I'm thinking?"

"Because your face says it all," Hareena sighed, looking up at his ceiling, "You may think you hide it well, but you don't."

Cassel gazed upward as well. "It's hard to forget," he said finally.

Hareena reached down and clasped his hand in hers, "Yes, I know. I keep thinking about it too. But..I refuse to believe it, Cassel."

Cassel brought their hands up and kissed her knuckles. "I just want to stay here... with you," he said softly.

Hareena smiled and squeezed his hand, "I want to stay here with you too, Cassel. There's nothing I'd want more."

He turned his head and blinked at her. "Really?"

"You sound surprised," Hareena giggled, nodding her head. Her thumb brushed over the back of his hand, "Of course I do."

"Why?" Cassel blurted out. It seemed strange to him, that someone could care about him that much. Everyone he'd ever met either didn't like him or ended up leaving him in the end. It made it hard to trust, but for some reason he'd still fallen for her... hard. It was close to the last thing he'd expected, but not quite. No, the last thing he'd expected was for her to fall for him, too. He hadn't acted like a very nice person when they'd first met.

Hareena laid her head on Cassel's chest and smiled, "I've gotten to know you well, Cassel. You're special to me. I haven't actually gotten to know anyone in a long time."

Cassel propped himself up on his elbow and leaned over to kiss her again. "Thank you," he whispered after he pulled away.

Hareena smiled gently and closed her eyes, "Mmm, you're welcome."

He drew away and drank her in, admiring every detail of her face. "We're not going to give up," he said, almost tentatively.

She nodded and nuzzled hey face a against him, "I won't let you give up."

"Can we just... stay here for awhile?" he asked. "We can go out and scour the city later. Right now I just want to be with you."
